Set Up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Modified on Wed, 29 Jul at 3:44 PM

To help keep your Rave account secure, you'll need to set up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA).

2FA is mandatory for all paid Rave users except Site Staff and Timesheet users (unless your branch has made it mandatory in Branch Settings)

The following user types are not required to use 2FA, although they can choose to enable it if they wish:

  • Site Staff( unless your branch has made it mandatory)

  • Timesheet users (unless your branch has made it mandatory)

  • Clients

  • Contractors

This only needs to be done when you first authenticate with your Single Sign-On option and then choose "keep me signed in", and again at the end of your trusted device period, which is every 14 days.  For admin users who have Branch Settings you will need to use 2FA to log you into admin mode which will last 1 hour.

This only takes a few minutes.

Please do not scan the QR code with your phone camera as this will not save you must scan it from within an authenticator app

Step 1: Open an Authenticator App

Download or open an authenticator app on your mobile device. Supported apps include:

  • Google Authenticator
  • Microsoft Authenticator
  • Authy
  • 1Password
  • Bitwarden
  • Any app that supports Time-based One-Time Passwords (TOTP)

Step 2: Scan the QR Code

Using your authenticator app:

  1. Select Add Account or the + icon.
  2. Choose Scan QR Code.
  3. Scan the QR code displayed on the Rave screen.

Can't scan the QR code?
Click
"click here" to enter the code manually and copy the setup key into your authenticator app instead.

Step 3: Enter the Verification Code

Once the account has been added, your authenticator app will generate a unique 6-digit code.

  1. Enter the 6-digit code into the 6-digit code field in Rave.
  2. Click Verify.

Note: The verification code refreshes every 30 seconds. If the code expires before you enter it, simply use the new code displayed in your authenticator app.

Step 4: Skip (If Available)

If your organisation has allowed it, you may see a Skip button. This allows you to postpone setting up 2FA until a later date.

Important: Once the skip period has expired, you will be required to complete 2FA setup before you can continue using Rave.

Need to Sign In with a Different Account?
