Enterprise Scheduling provides a number of scheduling enhancements to provide complete control over your scheduling.
The first is the ability to link tasks and milestones, to other tasks and milestones - creating a set of dependencies that flow into different parts of the schedule, either working in conjunction or in isolation.
i.e. rain might have meant that outdoor work has been delayed, but indoor work can continue - linked tasks allow you to move those outdoor tasks back as a group, without affecting your indoor tasks workflows.
While you can create links via both the task list and the task gantt views - the task gantt view is the easiest view to see and learn how links work, and we cover this in detail via this Rave Help FAQ: Creating Task Links between Predecessors and Successors with 'Enterprise' Scheduling
Task List View - Task Change - Linked Task Reschedule Warning
If a task change is being made via the Task List view, a warning will now appear if the task change will affect (reschedule) a linked task as per the image below i.e. this task is linked to other tasks, and updating this task may cause the other linked tasks to be rescheduled.
If you receive this warning, we recommend going to the Task Gantt view of tyour schedule to view the linked tasks, and make the change there instead. Again instructions on how to create and edit task links via the task gantt view are available via this Rave Help FAQ: Creating Task Links between Predecessors and Successors with 'Enterprise' Scheduling
Note: This warning will only appear via the Task List view, when a start date, end date, or a duration is changed. This warning does not appear when you are editing task via a task modal or when the schedule is locked, or you are making changes on the task gantt view.
