RAVE allows you to provide additional clients access (with their own RAVE client profiles and log-ins) to your primary client's project as a secondary client i.e. a husband and wife, or additional business partners in a joint venture may each want their own Client Portal login.

You can share almost everything the primary client login can see, but you do have the option to hide the project's Progress Payment sub-tab from the additional client's view i.e. in the case of an insurance company paying for the work (has a primary client login), who are happy to provide similar access to their client (with a secondary client login) for whom the work is being done - but WITHOUT access to the job costings.

NOTE:  You can add more than one secondary client to a project i.e. secondary client(s) following the steps below.

Additional/Secondary Client's Project Access
In providing secondary client(s) access to a project, they have the following project access and visibility:

Schedule (with permission)

Secondary client(s) have the same visibility rules as the primary client i.e. if the primary client has schedule access, any secondary client(s) will also have access.  They can be assigned to tasks and can view & comment on tasks assigned to them.

Files

Secondary client(s) can see files visible to the primary client.  They can upload files to the client folder, and delete files they have uploaded.

Messages

Secondary client(s) can see and reply to messages that are sent to them and can send a message to any recipient of the project.

Checklists (with permission)

Secondary client(s) can be assigned to the project's checklists, can add comments, and check off those checklist items.

Progress Payments & Invoices (with permission)

Secondary client(s) can view the Progress Payment and Invoice sub-tabs with permissions.  They can view, comment, and accept or decline variations approval requests - and are recorded as such in the project records when doing so.  Oncharge invoices can be created for secondary clients too. Secondary clients can have invoices made out to them only not the primary client.

Emails Received

Secondary client(s) are also sent the:

  • Estimate & Estimate Variation Request emails (with progress payment permission on)
  • Progress Payment Variation Requests emails (with progress payment permission on)
  • 'Client Site/Build note added' notification email

3 Steps to Provide Secondary Client(s) Access to a Another Client's Project

There are three steps in providing additional clients access to a project.

The first step is to check that each additional person requiring their own client portal login, has been added to RAVE with their OWN client profile - how to do this is covered by this FAQ: Adding a Client (to RAVE)

The second step is to create a Client Login and Password for each additional person - how to do this is covered by this FAQ: Creating a Client Login.

The third step is to add each additional person to the project via the project's 'People's' - the instructions for this are listed below.

Once the above 3 steps have been done, the additional person/people will also be able to access the project - how the clients can login and use RAVE (including a video link you can send them) is covered by this FAQ: RAVE'S Client Portal- A guide for your Clients

How to Add a Secondary Client (with their own client login) to another Client's Project

You can add an additional client profile to another client's project by first finding and opening the target project, we do this by:

  1. Clicking on the 'Site/Build' button - this will display your branch's Project List

  2. Find the Project you would like to add the Additional client to - and click on their project job number or the 'Show' button to the right of that project's listing/line.

This will open the Project to it's Build Overview sub-tab

NOTE: You can also find them by entering their job number into the project search bar as shown below.

  3. Click on the project's 'People' sub-tab

This will open the project's 'People' screen, which is where you decide who will have access to project i.e. additional clients, tenants (for our maintenance clients), staff users, and site staff.

  4. At the top of the people sub-tab is the Client's section.  Find your additional client's profile (name) via the Select a Client dropdown, and click the 'Add' button to confirm your selection.

This will add the additional client to the project.  Now the additional client can log in to your Client Portal with the login credentials you've given them.
